During the inaugural meeting in Abuja, Senator Barau Jibrin, Chairman of the Committee, emphasized that their objective is to conclude the amendment process within two years. The focus is on processing proposed amendments rather than rewriting the constitution, aligning it with contemporary needs, including the era of artificial intelligence.

With a commitment to diligence, the committee, guided by a structured work plan, will collaborate closely with the House of Representatives and engage stakeholders to ensure the proposed amendments gain necessary approvals, including from the State Houses of Assembly and the President. Senator Jibrin underscored the importance of members’ dedication given the complexity of issues involved.
