NATO Military Committee Chief Urges Swift Aid to Ukraine During Official Visit

Rob Bauer, the Chief of the NATO Military Committee, has made a significant visit to Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of delivering vital aid packages promptly to support Ukraine’s defense efforts against Russian forces.

During his visit to Kyiv, Bauer urged Ukraine’s allies not to lose hope in its ability to repel Russian troops, despite facing challenges such as shortages of ammunition, manpower, and territory losses in the east.

Bauer’s delegation marks the first official visit by a NATO military delegation to Kyiv since February 2022, when Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Addressing the Kyiv Security Forum, Bauer underscored the urgency of providing additional support to Ukraine, stressing that time is of the essence as every delay costs human lives.

He praised Ukraine’s resilience and adaptability in the face of evolving warfare tactics, noting the country’s significant contributions to modern warfare strategies.

During his discussions with Ukrainian officials, including Army Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, topics such as ammunition supplies, air defenses, combat training for Ukrainian servicemen, and defense industry cooperation were addressed.

Bauer expressed confidence in Ukraine’s ability to succeed on the battlefield, cautioning against excessive pessimism and highlighting the importance of continued support from NATO allies.
