Public Holidays Declared for Eid-al-Fitr Celebration in Nigeria

The Nigerian Government has officially announced Tuesday, April 9th, and Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, as public holidays to commemorate the Eid-al-Fitr Celebration. This declaration, made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, extends congratulations to the entire Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of Ramadan’s fasting period.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo emphasizes the importance for Muslims to embody and practice the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighborliness, and compassion, following the exemplary conduct of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him). Furthermore, he calls upon all Nigerians to maintain unity to enhance peace and harmony across the nation.

The Minister extends warm wishes for a joyous Eid-al-Fitr celebration to all members of the Muslim Ummah, praying for the peace, blessings, and favor of Allah upon both individuals and the nation as a whole.
