Kwara State University Expels 175 Students for Various Offenses

Malete, Nigeria, July 9, 2024 — The management of Kwara State University (KWASU) in Malete, West-central Nigeria, has expelled 175 students for a range of offenses. This decision followed the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee (SDC), which held sittings between October 2021 and March 2024.

The expelled students faced penalties for offenses including examination malpractice, theft, using fake results to gain admission, assault, fraud, belonging to unregistered associations, and possession of firearms.

This action was detailed in a statement by Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, Acting Director of University Relations, who emphasized the institution’s zero-tolerance policy towards all acts of indiscipline. The statement reaffirmed KWASU’s commitment to producing graduates who excel in both character and learning.
