THE POLICE IN CROSS RIVER STATE HAVE PARADED CYPRIAN MBE (52) FOR ALLEGEDLY DEALING IN ARMS.

HE WAS ARRESTED DURING A STOP AND SEARCH ACTION BY THE POLICE DIVISIONAL PATROL TEAM IN ETUNG LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

MBE, A NATIVE OF BASHIA IN BOKI COUNCIL, WAS ARRESTED AT THE WEEKEND WITH 299 LIVE CARTRIDGES CONCEALED IN A BLACK BAG.

COMMISSIONER OF POLICE ABDULKADIR JIMOH, WHO ADDRESSED REPORTERS YESTERDAY, SAID THE SUSPECT HAD BEEN A GUN RUNNER AND A PROMOTER OF COMMUNAL WARS IN ETUNG.

JIMOH SAID THE POLICE WAS STILL INVESTIGATING TO GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE SUSPECT’S DEALINGS AND ‘HE WOULD BE CHARGED TO COURT AFTERWARDS’.
