Buhari, Others Receive Leadership Award In Ebonyi

The Nigerian President, Mohammadu Buhari, has been honoured in Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria, with the award of “Great Commander,” Ebonyi Hall of Fame GCEHF as a sign of recognition for the great leadership exhibitions he has demonstrated in the country.
In the same vein, Nigeria’s former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, and the former Head of State General Sani Abacha, were also honoured in with the GCEHF Award.
The awards were given to these outstanding leaders during the Ebonyi State 2022 award night at State Ecumenical Center in Abakaliki, the state capital.
President Buhari, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Ibrahim Gambari said he was highly overwhelmed by the award.
He said: “I must commend Ebonyi People led by the Governor of the State, Engr David Umahi for this wonderful recognition.”
President Buhari thanked Umahi for making Ebonyi State a food-sufficient State of the nation.
“Ebonyi is now the largest rice producing State in Nigeria,” he added.
Also, the former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, expressed joy over the award saying that people should always maintain the character with which they were recognised for the Award.
“I would like the law of the Country to permit revocation or withdrawal of such award from the awardee if after given award but discovered that the awardee is causing trouble in Nigeria or elsewhere,” Jonathan added.
Other awardees were The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubaka Malami, General Faruk Yahaya, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, Former Governors of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi and Dr Sam Egwu amongst others.
More so, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr David Umahi thanked the awardees for honouring the invitation.
