IGP URGES POLICE OFFICERS TO RETURN TO DUTIES, LISTS CONDITIONS FOR USE OF FIREARMS

THE INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE, MOHAMMED ADAMU, HAS ENCOURAGED POLICE OPERATIVES ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO RETURN TO DUTIES WITH COURAGE AND RID THE NATION OF CRIMINALS.

ADAMU, WHO MADE THE CALL WHEN HE VISITED THE OYO STATE POLICE COMMAND IN IBADAN, ALSO LISTED CONDITIONS FOR THE USE OF FIREARMS BY MEN AND OFFICERS OF THE FORCE.

HE URGED THE OPERATIVES NOT TO ALLOW THE KILLING OF THEIR COLLEAGUES AND THE DESTRUCTION OF POLICE FACILITIES BY HOODLUMS DURING THE #ENDSARS PROTESTS TO DEMORALISE THEM.

THE IGP TOLD POLICE OFFICERS TO SHOW MAXIMUM RESTRAINT IN USING THEIR FIREARMS BUT SAID THEY MUST USE THEM IF THEIR LIVES WERE IN DANGER OR DURING A RIOT.
