KAGARA ABDUCTIONS: FG HAS ABANDONED US, GOVERNOR BELLO CRIES OUT

ABUBAKAR SANI BELLO, THE GOVERNOR OF NIGER STATE, HAS ACCUSED THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NOT DOING ENOUGH TO SECURE THE RELEASE OF 42 PERSONS ABDUCTED AT GOVERNMENT SCIENCE COLLEGE, KAGARA.

THE GOVERNOR DISCLOSED THIS IN A STATEMENT ISSUED BY HIS MEDIA AIDE, MARY NOEL-BERJE.

THE GOVERNOR SAID HE HAS RECEIVED “LITTLE OR NO SUPPORT” FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TOWARDS THE RESCUE OF THE ABDUCTED VICTIMS.

QUEST NEWS GATHERED THAT THE BANDITS ABDUCTED THE PERSONS, INCLUDING 27 STUDENTS, THREE WORKERS AND 12 MEMBERS OF THEIR FAMILIES IN THE SCHOOL LOCATED IN RAFI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF THE STATE.

THE BANDITS WHO KIDNAPPED 27 STUDENTS AND 15 OTHERS AT GOVERNMENT SCIENCE COLLEGE, KAGARA, NIGER STATE, REPORTEDLY THREATENED TO STARVE THE VICTIMS TO DEATH IF THE GOVERNMENT REFUSES TO PAY A RANSOM ON TIME.

THE KIDNAPPERS’ THREAT WAS CONTAINED IN AN AUDIO RECORDING IT OBTAINED FROM SHEIK AHMAD GUMI, A PROMINENT ISLAMIC CLERIC WHO HAS BEEN MEETING WITH BANDITS
