Olympics: Team Nigeria arrive today

Nigeria’s contingent at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will arrive in the country today, The PUNCH has learned.

Minister of Youth and Sports Sunday Dare and Nigeria’s two medallists Blessing Oborududu and Ese Brume had arrived in the country on Saturday.

The rest of the contingent, however, waited behind to take part in Sunday’s closing ceremony.

An official of the Nigeria Olympics Committee confirmed the team’s arrival to our correspondent on Tuesday.

Nigeria took part in 10 events with 63 athletes at the Tokyo Olympics with Oborududu winning a silver medal in wrestling, while Brume won a bronze medal in the long jump.

The other events where Nigeria is featured are basketball, gymnastics, badminton, table tennis, swimming, taekwondo, rowing, and canoeing.
