Security operatives fire shots at church members, kill one, several others injured
Security men identified to be joint security task forces operating with Borno Geographical Information System (BOGIS) have shot dead a church member and injured several others in an ensuring clash in Borno state.
The incident occurred in Maduganari area in Maiduguri when officials of BOGIS, alongside a joint security task force, went to the Church for regulation of land administration and urban development measures.
The security operatives opened fire at peaceful Church members when they disagreed with the task force’s attempt to demolish the Church.
Quest news gathered that several bullets were randomly shot at the church members, leading to one dead and several persons hospitalized.
However, the governor of Borno state Mr. Babagana Zulum has condemned the attack on christ worshipers.
The governor in a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Communications and Strategy, Mallam Isa Gusau, condemned the incident.
