SERAP urges FG to obey court order to free #BuhariMustGo activists

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged President Muhammadu Buharimto obey the order of the Federal High Court in Abuja and release the five activists arrested at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja.

Recall that the Federal High Court had ordered the Department of State Services to release five worshipers who were arrested at Dunamis International Gospel Centre on July 4, 2021, for allegedly wearing t-shirts with inciting inscriptions.

Justice Anwuli Chikere gave the order following separate ex parte applications filed on their behalf by their lawyer, Mr. Tope Temokun.

Justice Chikere ordered that the DSS should release the applicants with immediate effect.

It has been one week after the judge’s ruling and the activists are still not released.

In reaction, SERAP on their official Twitter handle, @SERAPNigeria, urged the President to obey court orders and release the activists.
