Nigeria’s Falconets will lock horns with Senegal in the third round of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, scheduled between 6 and 14 February 2026.

The Falconets booked their spot after thrashing Rwanda 4-0 in Ibadan, sealing a 5-0 aggregate win. Precious Oscar, Fatimah Tunmininu, Janet Akekerowei, and Taiwo Afolabi all found the net in the second leg to complete the rout.

Senegal also advanced in style, hammering Algeria 4-0 in their return leg to secure a 6-0 aggregate victory. Sokhna Nogaye Pene struck early, Melissa Rekibi’s own goal widened the gap, before late goals from Aïssatou Sagna and Khadija Badio wrapped up the result.

The CAF qualifiers are played in a knockout format, with aggregate scores deciding the winners. If tied, away goals come into play, followed by penalties. The winners of the fourth round will qualify for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Meanwhile, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde rewarded the Falconets with US$15,000 for their emphatic victory over Rwanda.
