Efforts to revive peace negotiations in the Middle East have intensified, with Qatar and Egypt sharing a new plan designed to bring Hamas to the table.

The proposal, backed by the U.S., places significant demands on Hamas, including disarmament, the return of hostages, and relinquishing control of Gaza. During recent talks with the Egyptian intelligence chief and Qatar’s prime minister, Hamas negotiators said they would review the plan “in good faith.”

However, uncertainty remains over whether Hamas will accept the conditions. The tension has grown since earlier this month when an Israeli strike on Qatar killed one security officer and five Hamas officials.

In response, former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to call the Qatari leader and issue an apology. Trump further warned that if Hamas rejects the plan, Israel would have Washington’s full backing to continue military operations.

The development has heightened anticipation across the region as observers await Hamas’ official stance.
