Renowned American film director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife have been found dead at their Southern California mansion, according to reports by CNN and NBC on Sunday.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed during a media briefing on Sunday evening that two people were discovered dead at the residence of the acclaimed filmmaker, best known for directing When Harry Met Sally. However, authorities said they were not yet prepared to publicly confirm the identities of the deceased and had not named or questioned any suspects in connection with the case.

Homicide detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department are currently leading the investigation, which police described as an apparent homicide. Officers remain at the scene as inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
