According to updates from the team’s camp, FC Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi is the latest arrival, joining teammates who had earlier reported for duty.

Players already in camp include goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali, Francis Uzoho and Amas Obasogie, alongside Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Igho Ogbu and Tochukwu Nnadi.

The remaining 12 invited players are expected to arrive on Monday, after which the team will hold its first training session at 8:00 p.m. local time. The session will take place at the main bowl of the Cairo International Stadium. Members of the coaching crew and backroom staff are already settled in camp.

As part of their build-up to the AFCON, the Super Eagles will face Egypt in an international friendly on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Cairo Stadium.

After the friendly, head coach Eric Chelle and his squad will depart for Fes, Morocco, which will serve as Nigeria’s base during the group phase of the tournament.

Nigeria has been drawn in Group C alongside Tunisia, Tanzania and Uganda. The Super Eagles will begin their AFCON campaign against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars on December 23, before taking on Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles four days later. They will conclude their group fixtures with a match against Uganda’s Cranes three days after the Tunisia encounter.

The friendly against Egypt and the ongoing preparations are expected to fine-tune the squad as Nigeria aims for a strong showing at the 2025 AFCON.
